High School Tutoring Program

Available in both English and French, participants are offered one-on-one tutoring or can use the quiet space for independent study.

DETAILS

The High School Tutoring Program offers free after-school tutoring in any subject three evenings per week. Students from local English and French schools can benefit from Phelps’ welcoming and focused environment with bilingual tutors on-hand for one-on-one tutoring for help with homework, test preparation, or any subject they find difficult.

Our locale has computers, internet and printers available for students as well as a private room set up for group projects and a reading corner with a student library for when students complete their homework.

Our Compass coordinator is on-site for these sessions to help students with any post-secondary and career needs. For more information about the Compass Program, click here.

Testimonials

"When my eldest son Link started high school, he was placed in the modified program – the lowest level academic stream. Expectations for kids in the program are low and most never graduate. With support from Phelps Helps, Link worked his way into the next level up the following year. He didn’t stop there. With dozens more sessions at Phelps Helps, he worked his way up again. Now, in grade 9, he’s in the regular-level classes in all subjects. He’s so proud and so are we!"
