  • Community Outreach Coordinator
    Job type: Full-time position, flexible hours Reports to: Programs Director Location: 272 rue Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, J0B 3E2 Starting : July 4th 2023 About Phelps Helps Located in the beautiful Eastern Townships, Phelps Aide Phelps Helps is a non-profit organization offering educational and career support to youth from the Stanstead area. Phelps currently offers 6 distinct educational programs, aimed at reducing the drop-out rate and helping local youth discover and reach their future career goals. Phelps Helps offers a range of community engagement events designed to strengthen community vitality. About the Community Outreach Coordinator This offer will provide an individual who is passionate about community development a unique opportunity to lead initiatives that will bolster community engagement and support Phelps in its mission. Coordination centers around event planning, volunteer relations, and program promotion. Tasks include: Volunteer Management Coordinate volunteers for weekly programs and events: includes recruiting and supervising volunteers at weekly programs (four sessions per week alternating) and maintaining volunteer data in our CRM Developing volunteer appreciation events Coordinate weekly scheduling and transportation (where necessary) of volunteers for all programs Process background checks for all volunteers Community Outreach Plan, promote and execute community outreach events Assist in developing a comprehensive approach to increase community engagement Network throughout the region on behalf of Phelps to gain recognition, garner support and enhance the community profile Marketing and Communications Ensure use of social and printed media for events and campaign promotion Assist with the organization and execution of press conferences, open houses, special events Support marketing and communications needs: including assisting with the Phelps newsletter, updating the Phelps Helps website, assisting in the development and production of marketing materials such as annual reports, fact sheets etc. Your Qualifications and Attributes Bilingual (French and English) Postsecondary degree or certificate (or experience in a related field) Experience and interest in organizing events Strong coordination and multi-tasking skills and ability to work autonomously Experience with Microsoft office, CRMs and social media platforms is an asset Position to become effective immediately Please submit your application (CV and cover letter) to Katie Lowry, Programs Director, at klowry@phelpshelps.ca
  • Educational Program Coordinator

For more information about Phelps Helps, visit phelpshelps.ca About the Educational Program Coordinator This offer will provide an individual who is passionate about education a unique opportunity to work with students aged 12-30 in an educational setting outside the classroom. Coordination centers around curriculum development, tutoring, hands-on learning activities and physical activity. Tasks include: Assist at-risk students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal/social skills, goals, and plans Develop and animate weekly activities (hands-on learning, physical activity) Promote the program to families, students, schools and the community at large Recruit, register and collect statistics (attendance, etc) for the program Follow-up with parents and schools Support and coach volunteers in tutoring sessions Participate in the research, development and revision of evaluation tools Build partnerships with other community organizations Participate in community outreach activities Perform other administrative tasks related to the program Your Qualifications and Attributes Bilingual (French and English) Postsecondary degree or certificate (or experience in a related field) Experience and interest in working with youth Strong skills in behaviour management, leading a group Strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Good time management and ability to work autonomously Please submit your application (CV and cover letter) to Katie Lowry, Programs Director, by June 20th at klowry@phelpshelps.ca
