Spark Program

Fosters a love of learning through gym play and educationally driven, hands-on STEM activities with grades 1 to 6 students.

DETAILS

The Spark program was specifically designed to ignite curiosity and a love of learning. It is offered once a week after school at Sunnyside Elementary School and l’École primaire du Jardin-des-Frontières in Stanstead. After a healthy snack, students take part in hands-on activities, such as science experiments, math games, or a team-building exercises. At Sunnyside, the program began in 2014 and is offered to grades 3-4. The program was expanded to Jardin-des-Frontières in 2019 for students in grades 3 and 4.

“I came back to tutor the children so they can see that they are capable of achieving high things and that it does not matter that they come from a town like Stanstead. This program itself is a beneficial part of the community and I feel it’s programs like these that we need to help the youth in continuing their education and to know they can go further.”
