The Elementary Tutoring Program runs three times a week from September to June at Phelps Helps office. It is offered to students attending Sunnyside Elementary School and Jardin des frontières Elementary School - Stanstead's francophone school. This after school program offers free homework help for grades 5 and 6. Participating students enjoy twenty minutes of a fun activity and a healthy snack. Prior to beginning their homework, the program coordinator leads a targeted literacy lesson based on a chosen monthly theme.

The program targets early intervention by working to prepare students for the transition to high school. This is accomplished by placing emphasis on good study habits, building self-confidence and having targeted discussions about future educational and career goals.
