Free after-school tutoring in any subject on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Online option now available.
The High School Tutoring Program runs three evenings per week from September to June. Students can benefit from Phelps’ welcoming, quiet and focused environment with one-on-one personalized tutoring where they can avail themselves of help with homework, test preparation, or any subject they find difficult.
Sanctioned by the English and French School Boards, a special bus stop was added directly at the location to facilitate participation. French and English tutors are always on hand for individual support for all high school subjects. Through this program, we also seek to bridge the gap between the Anglophone and Francophone youth of our community.
Our Compass coordinator is on-site for these sessions to help students complete applications to postsecondary institutions, apply for financial assistance, loans and bursaries, as well as crafting CVs, writing cover letters and preparing for interviews. Healthy snacks are also provided after a long day at school.
Please note: due to the current social distancing regulations, only students who are registered can attend the high school tutoring sessions. To ensure that tutoring is accessible to all, one-on-one online tutoring sessions will also be an option for students. Once registered, students will be assigned tutoring sessions that work best with their learning style and schedule.
