Phelps offers uniquely designed educational programming to increase youth engagement and ensure youth in rural communities have the support system needed to graduate from high school and realize future career and educational goals.
Empower a community through educational and career support.
Unlocking the potential
Phelps Aide Phelps Helps was originally founded to reduce the elevated area high school drop-out rate with the belief that all children have unlocked potential that can be discovered if given the proper educational guidance and tools they need to succeed.
Partnerships are key to sustainability
A grass-roots organization, we know the power of building community and regional partnerships to attain our vision, whether by drawing upon the expertise or experience of other groups to enhance our programs, by creating awareness and support to grow our participant base, or by building relationships with enterprises who will offer financial support, or career guidance and future employment to our students.
Excellence from our team & programming
The core of our model demands consistency and structure from our staff who create dynamic programming that proves relevant and interesting to all aged participants. Trust is earned and trust is built. Programs are developed with specific goals in mind, all of which are geared toward improving attitudes towards education and the recognition that opportunities do exist and can be created.
Growing in tandem with the needs of the community
We understand the value of being a good listener. Our team works closely with youth participants and their families to ensure that their diverse experiences and needs are heard and addressed through our programming. We recognize that people, communities, and partnerships are ever changing and that adaptably is the key to successfully furthering our mission. We view change as an opportunity to grow in tandem with the needs of the community.
"These students have so much potential, and our goal is to help them eliminate as many obstacles as possible, so that they realize that potential. Over the past four years, I have had the pleasure to watch a number of kids transform as students and young adults. That's what it's all about!" - Katie Lowry, Executive Director
