Stanstead, Québec is located on the United States border, resulting in a highly populated Anglophone community. 54% of our population does not regularly speak French and 23% cannot express themselves in French. In addition, to receive a high school diploma in Québec, the Ministry of Education requires a grade 11 level of French.
Phelps strives to promote the importance of bilingualism. Our Phelps en français program provides a Francophone environment for English-speaking students to practice their French, while receiving help with their homework.
"My son told me I should be proud of him for getting math help and talking French at the same time. I am proud of him for not being shy to ask for help to be successful in school. Thanks Phelps tutors for all your help!"
